"Eating mustard sandwiches and not knowing how we're going to get to the next town"

Sometimes the simplest recipes are the best - as in the case of this Talkhouse podcast. There are just two ingredients: David Yow of The Jesus Lizard and Andy Falkous of Mclusky.

Admirers of each other's work, they chat for 45 minutes about everything from handling pre-show nerves (Yow's Scratch Acid coped with a debut gig in the company of Butthole Surfers and Big Boys by handing out acid tabs...) and how shit bands with shit patter at Reading inspired Mclusky, to falling out of love with Budweiser, Aussies trapped down wells, pistachio nutshell etiquette, upsetting Francophone people in Quebec by shouting obscenities down payphones, and taking such a cocktail of drugs that you wet yourself and have to get carried through customs like a roll of carpet.

It's surely all the evidence you need to know that either of them - or perhaps even both together - could write a riotously entertaining book in the vein of Joe Thompson's Sleevenotes. Someone please make it happen.
