Look forwards, not back

It's extremely rare that you'll find me agreeing with a Tory of any hue, but on Channel 4 News' Ways To Change The World podcast, Michael Heseltine put his finger on the most tragic aspect of Brexit. The prime movers in the push to leave Europe and the architects of the current political mess are the older generation - Heseltine's own - but it's young people who will have to suffer the crippling consequences of the ridiculous insistence on sovereignty (read: isolationism) for years to come. That much is being completely lost amidst all the self-interested posturing and jostling of the last few weeks and months. At the risk of sounding corny, the nation's future - by which I mean the future of its young people - should be the paramount consideration.
