On Going Home is a lovely little short film about a young Northern Irishman travelling to Iran to be reunited with the family his father left behind when fleeing the country in the late 1970s - and it just so happens to have been directed and produced by an acquaintance of mine, Phil Harrison. He already has one full-length film under his belt, 2012's The Good Man, starring Aidan Gillen of The Wire, Game Of Thrones and The Dark Knight Rises.
And on the subject of home and talented, creative associates, When Football Came Home is a new book about Euro 96 written by my friend and former colleague Mike Gibbons. Coming two decades after that largely golden summer, and in a European Championship year, the book's publication couldn't be much more timely.
