The insights it gives might not be all that surprising, but the map created by Oliver O'Brien for the Consumer Data Research Centre showing the age of residential properties in England and Wales nevertheless makes for fascinating viewing. In all of the cities featured in this Guardian gallery, only in London and Bath has the construction of new housing over the last 15 years not been focused predominantly in the centre.
