Punk, principles and positive action

When Fucked Up started garnering significant attention and awards, resulting in larger audiences, they were never likely to rest on their laurels and simply enjoy or piss away the privileges afforded to them. On the contrary, as this article by Pitchfork's Stuart Berman underlines, they've consistently sought to use their higher public profile and greater financial clout to positive ends - whether supporting charities, enthusiastically promoting and mentoring the diverse local talent in their native Toronto or, in the case of frontman Damian Abraham, becoming Fox News' most improbable pundit. For Fucked Up, thankfully, it's not just "all about the music".
