Poor Nigel Farage. If it's not one of the "lunatic fringe" that actually make up his party spouting something mind-bogglingly stupid, crass or offensive, it's his own Twitter hashtag getting hijacked.

Meanwhile, the Guardian have put the suggestion that the pronouncements of UKIP and BNP members are practically indistinguishable to the test. If my results are anything to go by, it's a valid point.

On the eve of the European elections, UKIP could definitely do with some positive PR. Where's Max Clifford when you need him?
