Wocky 'n' roll

Gah. No sooner had I decided that we'd give attendance at this year's Green Man serious consideration than ATP announce a brand new festival. In collaboration with Primavera and Pitchfork. Taking place on the same bloody weekend.

Jabberwocky currently has three things in its favour. First and foremost, a bill which features Caribou, Deafheaven, Iceage, Pissed Jeans, The Ex, Hookworms and I Break Horses - the bands announced for Green Man thus far aren't hugely inspiring (though it does feel as though it's the Far Out Stage acts that are yet to be revealed). Second, a roof and therefore guaranteed dryness - it's taking place at the ExCeL Centre in London, rather than in the notoriously damp Black Mountains of Wales. Third, it's attractively priced, at £60 for two days.

However, on the flip side Green Man would be a family festival that Stan could attend, and there are likely to be friends going to Green Man. This is going to be a bit of a dilemma...

In other live music news, Morrissey has announced some US tour dates and revealed that Sir Tom Jones will be supporting him in LA and Sir Cliff Richard in Brooklyn. I don't suppose many people saw that coming...
