Quote of the day

"People say: 'Hey, do you think this is degrading to women?' I'm like: 'Of course it is. What a pleasure it is to degrade a woman. I've never gotten to do that before. I've always respected women.'"

The aptly named Robin Thicke, who sounds like a Viz character, responds to accusations that the video for his song 'Blurred Lines', which features a number of topless models, might be considered sexist.

The quote appears in this Guardian article about the recent spate of such videos, in which Peter Robinson ponders whether they're sexist, cynical or artistic. Thicke's effort is about as depressingly sexist and cynical as they come.
