Bye bye buy buy baby

I've touched on the subject of new parents being easy and vulnerable targets for Bounty reps, but it's true that parents generally are viewed as cash cows to be milked for all their worth. So it was with interest that I read Hattie Garlick's article about how she's trying (and, thus far, succeeding) to give "kiddy consumerism" a wide berth for a whole year. OK, the author is irritatingly smug at times, but it's nevertheless encouraging that her course of action is proving possible (if not easy), though remains incomprehensible to some other parents.
