It reminds me that for my niece's fourth birthday party last year, a joint bash with her friend, the theme was pirates and princesses. My dad's outfit consisted of an eye patch, and - in lieu of a parrot - the nearest approximation he could find: an 8cm-high plastic budgie attached to his shoulder by string...
