The end of radio

Here, in a nutshell, is why I'm both worried about and ashamed of my very occasional forays into Radio 2 while on long car journeys: the fact that the station's regular listeners can acclaim Coldplay's A Rush Of Blood To The Head their favourite album of all time. Second place is even more alarming: Keane's Hopes And Fears. Just to underline the ridiculous parochialism, all of the top ten albums are by British artists except one: U2, who are Irish. Finding myself in the company of people who think like that is enough to tempt me into booking an appointment with Dignitas.
