Incredible edible art

One of the many modern fads/obsessions I just can't understand is the one for cupcakes - absurdly complicated and expensive, and not even that nice given you have to chew through so much icing. They're frequently hailed as works of art - but the confections cooked up by Caitlin Freeman for a new book are much more like the real thing. Wonder if she does a Bridget Riley...
