Blackout?

There may be an element of paranoia about this, but it's certainly very odd indeed that the outcome of Wednesday's House of Lords vote - a rejection of a Labour challenge to backdoor privatisation of the NHS - hasn't been more widely reported in the mainstream media given its obvious import for the future of the organisation and indeed the nation.

The Guardian may not have appeared to cover the story, but they did at least give a platform to Andrew Simms and Stephen Reid to enable them to take issue with the myth that the private sector is more efficient and therefore privatisation is beneficial.
