"I hope journalists are doorstepping Dacre, Murdoch and Littlejohn for
their reaction to Lucy Meadows' suicide. The Mail really is scum."
It might make your skin crawl, but sometimes you just can't help agreeing with Alistair Campbell. Here he's condemning Richard Littlejohn and his paper for a piece ridiculing trans teacher Lucy Meadows, who has since committed suicide after complaining about media scrutiny and harassment.
The Daily Heil have removed the offending article from their website (here's an archived version, though), but have also issued a statement insisting there's no evidence to link Littlejohn's bigoted diatribe to Meadows' death and moaned about "an orchestrated twitterstorm, fanned by individuals – including former
Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell – with agendas to pursue". If you fancy becoming part of said twitterstorm, then could I kindly suggest you sign the petition to press for Littlejohn's sacking and a formal apology?
