Thought Sonic Youth's hiatus in the wake of his split from Kim Gordon and 2011's acoustic Demolished Thoughts indicated that fifty-something Thurston Moore was entering his pipe-and-slippers phase? Thankfully, you can think again. He's back, with a raucous new band Chelsea Light Moving, and apparently playing birthday parties in basements on request. The debut album's released on Monday and if 'Empires Of Time' and 'Alighted' are anything to go by, it's going to fill that SY-shaped hole in my heart just nicely.
