And it was all yellow mud, with sunny intervals

"Let's go out with a bang", said Queens Of The Stone Age's Josh Homme from Glastonbury's Other Stage on Sunday night. They certainly did - as did the festival, which is now on sabbatical until 2013.

As ever, bouts of inclement weather and treacherous debilitating mud were all part of the experience, and the highlights were legion. There's a lot of catching up to be done round here gig- and festival-review-wise, but when the write-up finally does materialise it'll cover everything from the Wu-Tang Clan to the Wombles, taking in tales of Z-list celebrities, discos in portaloos, dislocated knees, Wellyhenge, spiritual doorbells, alarming nudity and a stinker of a special guest performance from Radiohead.

It's going to be a long two years.

PS My brownness is suntan - I have had a post-Glasto wash, honest...
