Feel good hits of the 9th August

1. 'I'll Believe In Anything' - Wolf Parade
2. 'April Skies' - The Jesus & Mary Chain
3. 'The Tears Of Music And Love' - Deerhoof
4. 'Only Sometimes' - My Bloody Valentine
5. 'At War With The Sun' - The Big Pink
6. 'No Epiphany' - Fucked Up
7. 'I Don't Wanna Go There' - Dinosaur Jr
8. 'Octet' - Deerhunter
9. 'Wild Strawberries' - Archie Bronson Outfit
10. 'Limbs' - Emma Pollock

Notes:

1. Another band giving American indie rock a good name? Oh yes. I'm really enjoying Apologies To The Queen Mary and already eyeing up another purchase.

2. One of mine and Jen's songs. Not exactly romantic...

3. It was established last week that Jen's very definitely not a Deerhoof fan. Still, Friend Opportunity is on its way in the post (together with the new albums from The Arcade Fire, The National and Foals).

5. Nope, still don't get A Brief History Of Love - even less after seeing them at Glastonbury (review to come). This is decent in a fairly generic and forgettable way, though.

9. Coconut was an Glasto-inspired acquisition, but I probably should have plumped for the older Derdang Derdang first. Oh well - that pleasure awaits.
