Dead good

The fourth series of 'Six Feet Under' started on C4 on Tuesday night, and I'm sure I'm not the only one to feel a sense of relief and delight that they haven't kept those of us without satellite waiting too long before it made the switch from E4. The first episode was, as ever, brilliant. The emphasis was firmly on the black rather than on the comedy and the ending, as Nate buried his wife Lisa and then stood screaming over the grave, was extraordinarily powerful even by the show's own remarkable standards.
