The risk with attempting to reconnect with a band that meant an enormous amount to you during your formative years is that it tarnishes cherished memories. It didn't turn out that way with Therapy? on Wednesday, but unfortunately when it came to Placebo and new album Never Let Me Go, it was a different story. It turns out that to a 40-something, perennial teenager Brian Molko's needy, petulant, self-obsessed whine really grates on the nerves - and that's not to mention the record's numerous musical clunkers.
