Dating website OKCupid collects a vast amount of data on users' personal beliefs and preferences - data which, Christian Rudder realised, could be anonymised and crunched to give some fascinating insights into everything from gender, race and sex to what questions to ask on a first date and what words people who are into rough or gentle sex typically use in their profile descriptions...
