It's a fairly improbable story, admittedly, but if you had to name a celebrity who might claim on Radio 4 to have assisted a woman to give birth in Richmond Park in 1963, biting through the umbilical cord and licking the newborn's face clean, then you'd quite likely plump for Brian Blessed. Just when I thought he couldn't go any higher in my estimation.
