Making friends and influencing people

My latest contribution to The Two Unfortunates - a not-so-little article on Newcastle to kick off the Football Cities series - took bloody ages to plan and even longer to write, but it's all worth it for the fact that Harry Pearson, author of superb north-east football book The Far Corner, is now following the Black & White & Read All Over Twitter account as a result. The article might be of interest to Newcastle fans and north-easterners more generally, as well as anyone interested in the intersection of geography, economics, politics, culture, identity and sport, or in impossibly unwieldy sentences.
