Good write-up Ben. Enlightening as always. My overriding feeling however is that I'm glad I wasn't there. I would not have been able to greet the weather with your good humour and would undoubtedly have been sulky and miserable for the duration. Glad to see so many bands commented on though. Excellent work.

A fab festival diary, cheers Ben!

Penguin on a stick was very happy to get a mention, but I reckon he probably needs to be brought down a telescopic fishing pole length or two. His gallivanting has really freaked me out. You forgot to praise the programmes though!

I'm very happy to say that I think I might have made clever decisions on the Sunday, which never happens. The Gossip, The Young Knives and The Go! Team were all bloody great. Still really pissed that I missed Los Campesinos though.

Cheers Jon.

Alison: Damn, forgot to mention the comical circumstances in which you missed Los Campesinos!. Funny with hindsight, eh? ;)

That was a damned good read... thank you. Sorry that Tinariwen disappointed... their sets do take a bit of time to build, but maybe it was just wrong time/wrong place.

Cheers Mike. I remember you raving about Tinariwen, and as you say I'm fairly sure the circumstances just weren't right. I'd definitely like to see them again in a more conventional gig context (confined darkened space).

Actually, not particularly funny with hindsight, I'm still a bit annoyed having missed them, but there you go.

The problem with hindsight is you're left with some shit memories.
