Valley Village of the dolls

Here's one way to deal with the depopulation (through death and urbanisation) of your village, courtesy of Japanese artist Tsukimi Ayano: replace those who leave with freaky life-size dolls in their likeness.

(Incidentally, I think that "homunculus" might be one of my favourite words.)
