Look back in anger despair

There's nothing that makes you want to wish good riddance to the previous year more than Charlie Brooker's review, even if the future hardly promises to be any better. The most recent show was no exception, an unrelenting torrent of catastrophe, violence, injustice, misery and Dapper Laughs covered with trademark darkly satirical wit. The undisputed highlight was closing ditty 'Reasons To Be Fearful '14', a condensed round-up of 2014's news delivered as an update of Ian Dury & The Blockheads' classic 'Reasons To Be Cheerful, Part 3'.

On a related note, I missed Brooker's festive Black Mirror - and in fact I've not seen any of the previous ones, either. Now there's a resolution for 2015 right there.
