Missing an open goal

UKIP surely can't complain about any negatively biased coverage on the BBC after Thursday night's Question Time. If anything, the inclusion of both Piers Morgan and Joey Barton on the panel seemed calculated to make their newly elected MEP for North West England Louise Bours look good. So it was a pretty impressive feat for her to manage to emerge from the programme looking worse than both.

As for Barton, I think he should be excused the nerves to which he attributed his ill-advised "four ugly girls" metaphor - after all, it's probably the first time he's faced a barrage of questions without the reassuring presence of his solicitor by his side...
