Spot the odd one out: Bath, Edinburgh, York, Cambridge, Newcastle. Yup, that'd be the last one, my home town (near enough) sticking out like a sore thumb amongst the previous picture-postcard-perfect cities. But it belongs in that company: these are the top five favourite cities in the Guardian's 2013 Travel Awards, as voted for by readers. A discerning bunch, I've always thought.
Nice to see Cambodia named as readers' third favourite long-haul country, too - which reminds me that I really must get on with the second installment of our honeymoon trip, now over two years ago...
