You can't can stop the rock?

Depressing news from Newcastle, where Legends nightclub - widely regarded as the last bastion of the city's metal/alternative scene - has been sold to new owners and is set to reopen as a restaurant. On my last visit, in February last year, it was everything you could want in a rock club - dark, sticky, subterranean, stocked with booze aplenty and with DJs churning out classics tailor-made for bellowing along to drunkenly at 1.30am. Here's hoping its rock night finds a new home.
