Sod your fancy-pants compact discs, your MP3s, your Spotify and your streaming - cassette are apparently making a comeback. Great news for someone like me, who has a large number of tapes and who has found it desperately painful to confront the thought that a sizeable swathe of his music collection (some of the best albums, certainly) is in an obsolete format and thus useless. One of my Christmas presents was a tape-to-MP3 converter - as yet unused (shamefully), though perhaps it might soon be redundant itself.
Now for the VHS comeback, please - just so I can stop regretting forking out a considerable sum for the Six Feet Under video boxset less than six months before DVDs became the undisputed kings...
